TETPThailand

The outlook, and your involvement.

The results of our pilot research projects and their effects are impossible to ignore. One of the many encouraging stories we had after the first pilot program is that the father of a 17-year-old participant wandered into the research team office at the Occupational Therapy Department, Chiang Mai University. There were tears in his eyes, “After your project, my son hugged me and said, ‘I love you Dad.’ That was the first time he ever did that in his life.” Stories like this convince us of the validity of the project; it must go on.

TETP is currently planning to establish a permanent centre, to be a venue for continuing research, specialist Occupational Therapy training, and practice. There is a need for research into physiological, and biochemical factors, and brain function.  Publication of case studies and results will further scientific knowledge and assist health professionals in achieving early detection and intervention of autism. And our proposed centre will make the therapy available to many for whom at present there is no hope. The centre will also show case the new, dignified role of Thai domesticated elephants, their ability to live in harmony with humans and their need for sustainable conservation.

If you share our belief in the worth of the TETP project, your  involvement and funding support would be appreciated.
Please contact the TETP research office directly or donate to the project’s account:    Siam Commercial Bank (SCB) a/c no. 566-4-68746-4, Chiang Mai University. Then send us a copy of the transfer receipt by mail or email. You will then be sent an official TETP receipt.
